Narayana Murthy buys luxury apartment
Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has reportedly made a significant real estate move by purchasing a second luxury apartment in Bengaluru’s prestigious Kingfisher Towers for Rs 50 crore, setting a new price benchmark in the area. The 8,400 square feet residence, located on the sixteenth floor, features four bedrooms and five dedicated car parking spaces. The deal sets the price at Rs 59,500 per square foot, making it one of the highest in the city’s upscale commercial center, as per a Times of India report.
Kingfisher Towers, located in the prime UB City area, comprises 81 luxury apartments spread across three blocks on a 4.5-acre site. The 34-story development offers residences averaging 8,321 square feet. The land, which once hosted Vijay Mallya’s ancestral home, was developed in a joint venture between the Prestige Group and Mallya’s company in 2010, with apartments initially sold for Rs 22,000 per square foot.
Murthy’s new flat was purchased from a Mumbai-based businessman who had owned the property for nearly a decade, with the deal facilitated by Sadhwani Real Estate Holdings, states the report. This follows previous high-profile transactions in Kingfisher Towers, including one where Sudha Murty, Murthy’s wife, bought a flat for Rs 29 crore on the 23rd floor four years ago. Other prominent residents include Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Karnataka Minister KJ George’s son, Rana George.
